A decorative initial “S” in a royal document from 1596.

An initial beginning the document of King Sigismund III, in which the monarch confirms the articles of the Krakow Guild of Book-binders.
The letter “S” (from the name of the king, Sigismundus) is gilded, with colourful plant motifs painted around.
